That golden glow & a smooth affair

IMG_9283 I have lately been thoroughly reviewing Jane Iredale's Glow Time Full Coverage BB Creme.

Due to moving house and other stressors my skin has not been at it's best lately and I was in the market for more coverage in an every day foundation. I found a good colour match for myself in the line, however there are limited colours available. I wear BB7, a very yellow toned medium skin colour.

When I used it for the first time people commenting on how great my skin looks and if I was wearing anything and also asking what it was. I was really surprised that people noticed. So I guess this has a really great finish. Another big plus is that this product stays on all day, no matter how humid or long the day, it's perfect for Summer and the beach due to it's sunprotection and water resistance.

The packaging is just amazing, a practical squuuueze tube in gold, with is great for travel and every day use while still locking beautiful. When it comes to application be prepared to only use the smallest possible amount and follow the instruction: Place little dots in different areas of the face before you warm and work the product with fingers into the skin from the center outwards. It takes some getting used to and if you use too much product it won't work. This product is VERY high coverage so you really only need a tiny amount, really great as one tube will last you a long long time.

I tried many different ways of using it and I found it was important to moisturize my skin well before and it works best with the Jane Iredale Smooth Affair Primer (which smells delicious by the way), it makes my skin feel very smooth and supple yet it's light and quickly absorbed, it also enhances the radiance.

Being a lover of a very dewy finish, I was a little scared how matte the BB Creme went on, how ever it sets very quickly on my skin and transforms into a radiant finish. On days that I feel dehydrated I was setting it with Pommisst Which seals it in and gives instantly more glow.

Glow Time covers my breakouts and scarring without the need of additional concealer and I have also worn it here and here, so you can see how it photographs in daylight.

I recommend this for:

Sensitive skin Oily/Normal/Combination skin types Summer Beach Everyday wear Acne

Bride La Boheme Campaign / Jemma Keech / Liv Lundelius

There are very few photographers still celebrating the dreamy romantic world of film photography in Australia. One of the best in her field and very lovely to boot is Jemma Keech and it was wonderful being able to work alongside her and the creative mind and designer of Bride La Boheme on her latest campaign.

Isn't the lighting just wonderful?

The stunning dresses are all available via The Babushka Ballerina.

My current fav products & a little interview

IMG_9547 I had the pleasure of being interviewed over at Walter Osborne sharing my favourite products and a little more about me. Check out the full post over here and see my current top 10 below:

What are your top 5 (or 10!) desert island beauty products and why?

1) Avene Thermal Water – calms and refreshes the skin no matter how stressed or sensitive it might be.

2) Organic Coconut Oil – because I can only choose five products and this is such a great multitasker, that I love to use to remove stubborn eye makeup, as body moisturiser and as hair mask.

3) The Clearisonic skin cleansing brush – it works with any basic cleanser and performs a cleansing miracle.

4) Zkin Line Smoothing Serum – my favourite eye cream and anti ageing serum in one. Very potent yet organic.

5) A good mascara. I currently love Jane Iredale Longest Lash Mascara, makes my lashes look super long and whispy. I am a sucker for the gold packaging.
Hopefully if I would bring these five I wouldn’t require any further makeup…otherwise I’d be screwed as I haven’t really listed any foundation, concealer or colour products.

6) Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector – the best illuminator that I have ever found.

7) Chanel Pro Lumiere Foundation – this has been discontinued for years, but was an industry and personal favourite and I secretly hope that they will bring this amazing product back.

8) Veil Primer by Hourglass – makes everything used on top of it water resistant, a must for humid locations and long days or teary brides.

9) Jane Iredale Sugar&Butter, lip exfoliator and plumper – a little pretty genius product that exfoliates and then hydrates and plumps, the lip balm also has a very amazing sheer peach tone and golden shimmer to it. Looks great on it’s own or as lip primer.

10) By Terry Touche Veloutee concealer – so light and radiant, never settles in lines a staple in my kit.

A fresh start - body products that wake me up

Lamav02We have recently moved house and while our new space is sun drenched with morning light warming our bed room,in the midst of a busy season and the general moving chaos I have found it a little harder than usual to get out of bed in the morning. Do you know those days? Good thing La Mav, sent over their new body products...the perfect timing.

The Australian line of Organic skincare, is another favourite of mine within the truly natural, cruelty free and organic skin care ranges. They also carry one of my favourite eye creams: Bio A7 Firming Eye Lotion.

The coffee body scrub, really wakes me up in the morning, the body lotion with the soothing smell of Rose Geranium melts the stress away and the fresh scent of the hand cream keeps me alert during the day, I feel it's a little aromatherapy trio that worked wonders for me.

To tell you a little bit more about the products:

The Coffee Bean Body Scrub has a base of coconut oil and feels very hydrating, my skin is immediately smooth and supple after using in the shower, and I love the smell, I wish I could use it every morning, but I feel once to twice a week is enough exfoliation. If you haven't used this before be careful not to use too much product, a little goes a long way and it's a very loose texture not really a paste. The first time around I lost quite a bit of this lovely product down the drain, so please be careful. The mess you create in the shower is worth it and it does not leave any residue behind. Your skin will glow and feel super soft afterwards. Hooray for coffee scrubs.

The Noruish Hannd Creme is perfect for the desk, it comes in a clever packaging with a pump too and is easily absorbed, no sticky mess when typing. It contains Coenzyme Q10 and Shea Butter to provide long-lasting protection from dryness. A true skin care product for your hands, keeping them young and supple. It has quite a strong fresh citrus smell, I pick out the lemon myrtle oil contained here, so be warned if that's not your thing. Lemon myrtle has many health benefits and a lovely fragrance, however I prefer my day to day hand cream to be unscented and a little more neutral. Right now I am enjoying the scent though.

The Nourish Body Moisturiser comes in a pump bottle and has a lovely rich texture which melts into the skin and absorbing fully without leaving any residue behind, perfect for Summer, but still very nourishing and definitely suitable for dry skin. I am really looking forward to using it each day. It will sure become a bathroom staple.

My sensitive skin liked all the products and I am hoping they will release a body wash as well. Maybe one that smells of coffee as well?

This year seems very powerful to me, fast paced and dynamic and never a dull moment, I hope everyone will finish this year strong and positive. Let's all hang in there a little longer.

This week was filled with images releases of work that I have done a little while ago, always a great moment to see work published and being able to share the work.

This was my latest fashion editorial for HUF magazine.
