I am by no means talking about how to be super fit or extra skinny, as we are none of that. I am talking about being healthy, energetic & happy. Able to cope. In my experience, this has nothing to do with a number on the scale or hitting the gym for hours every day...
9 months in, 9 months out...
(well technically pregnancy last for 10months)
That lazy Summer feeling really got me.
All I want to do is hang out at the beach and eat mangos & coconuts
After we had a serious heat wave and little Faye got a shocking heat rash, we were happy to have a few cooler days!
I never thought I would say that in my lifetime...
We had a wonderfully simple little Christmas at last!
We spend the morning of Christmas Eve, which was a scorching hot day on the beach swimming & playing with Faye....

We got married!
It feels like a little while ago and at the same time as if it all happened just yesterday.
It truly was the most magical special day.
We were still buzzing days after and well into our honeymoon.
While we were on holidays exploring Scandinavia (part 3 is to follow soon!) our little man Dalston, had a staycation at home. We missed him all the time but it was good to know he was in best company. Our amazing friend and talented photographer Julianna aka J.K.Blackwell helped looking after him.
I love my job so much! I just had the chance to travel to Bali to work on a destination wedding.
I packed Dave into my suitcase and we added a few days onto the trip.
We were in luck when wedding photographer Jo Bartholomew, who also flew in from Sydney was up to take some shots of us!
I love her work. So this is the story of how we somehow ended up having a spontaneous engagement shoot, that we would have never planned to do. I am SO glad we did.
One very windy and cool Sunday afternoon, we met up with super-star pet photographer and friend Julianna from twoguineapigs to celebrate Dalston's first Birthday.
We had to leave cake and candles behind but the weather still allowed us to wear our party hats.

But then I remembered how much I had been empowered & inspired by all the positive birth stories that other women had shared. Sharing these stories feels very important to me, especially since there are always so many horror stories being told about birth.
One word upfront: I wrote this story down when it was all very fresh. Lying in bed, typing it with one hand on my phone. It has not been edited nor been creatively written. It just the words as they came to me at the time. Real and raw...
