Happy birthday bushwalks, beard boxes & homemade pizza

Happy Birthday Husband To Be!

I haven't quite gotten used to calling Dave, finacé yet.
Every day I am grateful that we met and I am so excited about staying together forever.
This man constantly inspires me to be the best version of myself and with him I feel complete.
Thank you Dave, for everything.

Instead of the usual traditional birthday apple pie, we made pizza at home, by popular request of the birthday boy himself.

After unwrapping his wooden box filled with beard grooming goodies and breakkie at home we went for a long bush walk with Dalston. We even encountered a massive snake!
The first one I ever did see in the wild. I had a glimpse and ran...
An evening of pizza baking and watching movies finished of the perfect little day together.

With the engagement and rough wedding ideas planning we went through all of our old pictures, which was so much fun.  I am so glad we started this little blog way back when we met, and documented everything. So much has happened, and we look sooooo young in our first posts.
Life has been good to us. And we are very very happy.

Currently we are in the process of moving, unfortunately we have to move out of our little apartment.
We got so used to it, although it's tiny and dark, we love the location and the lovely area so much.
Hoping to find something really near by has proven to be trickier than we thought, and many apartments won't allow Dalston.
Being main wedding season, it's not the best timing for me to juggle the house hunt and move, but hey... it will all work out in the end. It's certainly not the first move.
Fingers crossed we find a new lovely space soon.

Right now with Summer on it's way I feel like running away from the city and living in a big beach house with ocean views instead.  I am also really craving to creating a home more long term.
I am REALLY over moving around. I crave my own space that we can call our home for year and years.

But for now we will enjoy this wonderful time of being freshly engaged and enjoy the Summer.

P.S: The dress is by a local Australian Designer, Briony Marsh, I love her stuff!

A big surprise

Sunday was the best day of my life! Because it was the day Dave asked me to marry him!

He surprised me down at our favourite beach in Jervis Bay.
Remember we saw the first sunrise of the year there together?

We took a day trip to the beach at breakfast & coffees in the car and lunch at the cute little beach cafe
at Hyams Beach.

When I was just leaning back enjoying the first warm Spring sun rays by the beach he completely surprised me. We have both talked about getting married but I did not expect it on the day.

Hidden within a sunglasses case, Dave through the ring box a few meters away from our towels, while playing with Dalston. He then asked me to see what our little pup found in the sand.
I assumed someone has left their sunnies behind at the beach, and took the case of Dalston to check.
Completely confused I found a ring box in the case... well and when I opened it he popped the question.

And he did super well with the ring too. Totally my style: A yellow gold vintage ring
with a diamond and 2 sapphire side stones.

We took a beautiful drive back through the Kangaroo Valley, and spontaneously stopped over at Dave's family home to tell his parents the good news.

We really wanted to take a picture together with the timer, but after the proposal we were just so happy and caught up in the moment that we actually forgot.

I hope you enjoy our happy snaps from the day.
And we will post some of us together real soon. For now we are all smiles and butterflies.

One Big Fat Italian Wedding + Spring Clean

Just a few happy snaps out of a photo booth!
We had a lot of fun on a recent family wedding.
It was the biggest wedding spectacle I have been to, with about 350 guests entertainment from ballerinas, dancers, acrobats, Brazilian drummers to fireworks, it was certainly very funny.
None of my friends or family has ever had a huge wedding like this.
And it was totally not our style, it was lovely to catch up with David's parents and siblings,
to dress up and enjoy some great Italian food.

Now I am looking forward to Spring, Winter has been long enough now, I want to go to beach.
We have started our Spring clean in the apartment and we starting to get back into a healthy exercise routine. I also finally took a day off, a very rainy and cold one, doing yoga at home, enjoying face and hair masks (as we speak!) and writing a little blog post.
It feels soooo good to have some lazy-ish pamper time, organizing paperwork and just getting things sorted and getting on top of things. Rainy days like this are sometimes just perfect.
Last night we also had a little time talking about our future plans, and it made me feel all warm and fuzzy.

Hope you are all well and are excited about the change of seasons.

Planning a big day: Sydney Makeup Workshop

All photos documented by JK Blackwell at twoguineapigs
The last weeks have been pretty hectic and a little chaotic as well, while we were preparing for day: My makeup workshop.
It was a wonderful collaboration between Blog Society, Eat Read Love and I (Liv Lundelius Makeup), held at the Create Or Die Studio in Marrickville.
With being fully booked around that date I was very grateful for Dave, little Dalston and remarkable friend and super talented photographer Julianna at twoguineapigs to put in the extra hours and get all details right. Even better that the last preparations have been documented. I guess most of you know that I am a professional makeup artist
The day went super well. It was a really great challenge and I am humbled to say the guests attending were just the most enthusiastic and passionate.
I am incredibly grateful to have my little family and friends supporting and uplifting me to follow my dreams. It was a truly special time.
I want to make time for family and friends in return, as I feel that my work and ambitions are consuming most of my time. I love my work so much and switching off is something I probably have to learn.
If you are a friend reading this, know that I will try my best to be a better friend, daughter, puppy mum, girlfriend, partner ... I really do. And thanks everyone for sticking around.

I will update this space soon with some coverage of the actual event and it's amazing partners. Stay tuned!
