Hint Of Tint Jane Iredale Dreamtint Review

janeiredaleWith the hottest Spring on record here in Australia and sunny days all year around, I am always wearing a tinted moisturizer or foundation with SPF. Jane Iredale's natural cosmetics have fascinated me for a while so I was super excited to try her new Dream Tint formulas. She just launched a few new shades promoted as cc creams! First the whole BB hype now CC? I think it's not just the next hyped beauty trend, as professional makeup artist I have used colour correcting primers for years. And a CC cream is essentially just that: A primer or tinted moisturizer that balances skin tones redness or patchy skin. As I don't have any redness or concerns with my skin I choose the Warm Bronze shade just warm my skin up a little. It was actually much later than I expected just exactly matching my medium skin tone without warming it, which was a surprise. It goes on very matte, and has a slightly waxy texture. It feels different to the average silicon heavy smooth tinted moisturizers. The texture is very sheer and light, it can be used alone or under makeup as a primer. Although it has a more velvet finish it still makes the skin look radiant as opposed to powdery matte. It surprised me again, I found this formula is very long wearing and during a hot & humid day doesn't move at all. The packaging says it's even water resistant! For me it's the perfect summer product! A fuss free all in one product that is long wearing and doesn't make me look shiny either. It actually went straight into my little daily cosmetic bag, where I got to mention another plus, the small sleek bottle! My staples for this spring are the Dream Tint, the Forever Pink Lip and Cheek Stain, which goes on the lips as a moisturizing sheer balm and then transforms into a bright summery pink shade, very long-wearing and smudge resistant.

IMG_4393 On my desk I have sitting a bottle of Hydrating Water Spritz, I love the Antioxidant Balance Hydration Spray, which is perfect for my combination skin. Although I don't totally love the smell, (a little too zesty for my liking) the feel on the skin is lovely and the aromatherapy qualities recharge me instantly. And in the evening I pop on my new favourite red lipstick. Makeup with skincare benefits, is the best! Have you tried Jane Iredale products before?

A magical night of raising brows! Benefit Gimme Brow Review

brow01brow04 brow02 brow03

Do you take care of your brows? Do you thread, plug, or wax them? Do you fill them in with powder, pencil or gel? I think brows have been one of THE biggest trends over the last seasons. While it's not a good idea to go overboard and wear them too thin or too thick, it's important to groom them well and keep them in a good balance with your facial features. The can really change your face in the best or worst way. It's best to only ever let a professional and trustworthy person touch your holy brows. I love brows, and there is so much to learn about them. In fact there are so special that some beautician's started to specialize in brows and brow bars opened up all over the world. And beauty brand benefit has even published a book about brows. Yes, a whole book, just about brows! I grabbed myself a copy and am studying and reading through, I guess I am already a pro but there is always more to learn.

If that's a little to much for you and you just want to look good, without all the study and effort you can hold your breath now... Close your eyes...and imagine there will be a wonderful tiny little product that looks cute is small and easy to fit in your makeup bag and is has magical qualities, that make your brows look amazing as soon as brush the magic wand through them! Open your eyes again! Abracadabra POOF! Here it is: BENEFIT GIMME BROW! Seriously a fab little helper that just does it all, it not only colours your brows and holds them in place like other gels on the market. This one even fills gaps in and actually makes your existing brows looking thicker & conditions them long term. Yep, that's right!

Just last week I was invited to the beautiful Benefit Store in Sydney, to the product launch, where they even had a "real" magician performing and I got to see this little miracle work it's magic on other bloggers and my won brows! Wow what a night!

If your brows are sparse and you have always dreamed of thicker brows, make sure to try out GIMME BROW, the latest addition to the always cute Benefit Makeup range. It's magic ;) Of course the video below doesn't show the real effect and while it def thickens, fills, colours and conditions brows they will not magically take on a different shape, for this you will still need to see your local brow bar! Srsly, it's a great product! And it comes in 2 different shades too. A product that I have been waiting for!

Longest Lash Lust

0x550helen dowsley lashes Mirror Mirror On The Wall.......who has the longest lashes among them all?

Lashes have been a big thing for quite a few seasons now, lash bars have opened and there are many different options of lash extensions. Personally I prefer false lashes that come off easily at the end of the day , rather than the the high maintenance that comes with the more permanent extensions.

Being a lifetime vegetarian and animal fan, I don't really recommend Mink lashes anyway, as they are fur and are usually fabricated under cruel conditions. But everyone has to decide for themselves, I don't judge people wearing mink lashes, but I would personally not wear them. I wear lots and lots of mascara daily and for special occasions wear false lashes which are so much fun. I try and mix in ethical products in my makeup kit and I am always happy to find more professional quality products in this category.

On photo shoots and models false lashes are great and give so many options to change a look, perfect for red carpet looks or events they just enhance the eyes so beautifully. I often combine different styles, use lower lashes and upper lashes, or layer them. On my brides I love using individual lashes, which look super natural and pretty. They suit everyone and can be easily customized with different lengths.

The great Makeup Artist Helen Dowsley now offers a fabulous range of hand made & ethically sourced false lashes, exactly what I have been waiting for. Her range is just big enough to cover different styles, my beloved individual lashes and now even underlashes in different designs. I recently had the chance to try them, and they work a treat. You simply cut them in half and apply them in 2 steps. Under lashes create a dramatic eye opening effect, perfect if you want your eyes to look very big! With all her great industry experience she really manged to create a professional product that really reflects what women are looking for.

I love how the bands are very fine and see through which makes them look more natural and virtually undetectable. Check out her website for more info, you might fall in love with her products too!
