Family time x last days of summer

With all the buzz we had take some time well spent with family and enjoy the last warm days of the season. Autumn is here now, people! The leaves are turning all beautiful colours and it's time for a wardrobe change. We started to dig out our warm clothes, that I have completely forgotten about.
Our little nephew Marcus is growing so fast, and is just the cutest to watch.
These photos were taking on one of the last warm days.
While it's still lovely during the day, the nights and mornings are very crisp now.
Beach time is over and I am very excited and looking forward to checking out Sydney's Museums and doing different things. I guess you guys have had enough of our beach pictures ;)
Although I can see us having loads of rugged up picnics by the water, even in the cooler months.

Bye Bye Summer, thanks for staying so long, we had the best time, see you soon.

And: Hello Autumn, I am looking forward to meeting you!

The National Park, Gangster Birds and Lakes

What a weekend!

The wonderful breakfasts and long walks through the national parks, the naps and snuggle times and just simply the fact that we had hardly any reception on our mobiles, it all added to the total perfection of the trip.
We saw Wallabies with their young, plenty of bright colourful parrots and the biggest ants. The whole forest was filled with the thick & sweet smell of honey and you could hear the busy bees buzzing. While picnicing in the midst of this incredible wildlife one cheeky kookaburra bird came down and stole a whole vegetarian sausage directly of my plate, right in front of me!
Be aware, if you ever picnic in a national park. You might have to share your food...
Back on the road we discovered a big lake just in time for sunset, the light was wonderful and we watched little fish flipping and splashing. The only downside of this little getaway: It was too short. Way too short. Jervis Bay, we will be back, for sure!

Sometimes All You Need Is A Holiday + Dolphins + BBQ's

Even if it's only for three days!
After a couple of weddings this Easter weekend,
We got up super early on Sunday morning to drive down the coast to Jervis Bay.

The best idea ever! I don't even know where to start...
I hope our photos do the beauty of the nature some justice!

The drive was already beautiful- While it was storming on our way down there, and raining on our little boat trip the whole time we spent there was blue skies and sunshine.
We were driving down by the coast, stopping over at some great viewing point while the sun was rising.
Once in Husskinson the slightly bigger down in the area, we went for delicious breakfast and coffees,
strengthening ourselves for the boat ride across the whole bay.
And we saw dolphins! Even a little baby one!
They were too fast to capture but Dave managed to snap a little part of them.
It was a magical experience.

Hyams Beach, where we were staying at has the whitest sand beach in the whole wide world (yes, it actually is in the Guiness Book Of World Records).
The water was the cleanest most turquoise I have seen, the nature was overwhelmingly beautiful.
Our little cottage with ocean view, was the cutest thing I have ever seen.
The owners put so much love into it, it showed in every detail.
Actually it was so good that on our second night we didn't even want to go out for dinner! We had a seafood BBQ on the veranda instead. AMAZING.

More about our little getaway very soon!
Hope you all had a fantastic Easter weekend.

Little Roadtrips x Mini Getaways

Is it really mid March already?
The weather is better than ever no sign of Autumn at all!
Time flies and I feel like getting carried away with it.
We hit the pause button for half a day last Sunday: Although we are tired, we got up super early,
took a thermos and some snack and went for a mini road trip up the coast to The Entrance.
We
We were almost the only people on the beach and it has never felt better to just lie down and relax for a couple of hours. We are playing with our new fun camera, having a lovely breakfast and were soaking in the sunlight. Recharging. A little. For more exciting work over the next weeks.
It seems like there are some fantastic opportunities coming up for me and I am crossing my fingers,
while preparing and working as much towards it as I possibly can.
I want more of these little road trips and am super excited about our little Easter getaway that we are planning right now. Soon we will have that well deserved break! Jervis Bay here we come!

Feeling homier by the minute + Lunch break swims

Our home interior is almost complete.
I still really want to start a picture wall full of frames, and get some more little decoration items here and there, but mostly we have a liveable house now!
On Saturday we got 2 chairs and a table, which allows us to sit down properly now, for meals:
Such an improvement in our quality of life. The camping of the last months has come to an end,
and we begin to live in our house. It feels soooooooooooo good.
We got some more little plants around the place, my home office is set up, including photos on the wall and candle on the desk and I feel like I will find time for all the exciting projects I am having in my mind real soon.
My driving skills are getting better by the day too.
Sydney, you are quite something: While having a busy day keeping up with all the admin, emails and organization of my freelance work I can go for a swim during my lunch break.
The Redleaf Pool is right behind our house, and isn't actually a pool but rather a harbour side beach.
There is a little very simple cafe right by the water too, where we sneaked out to have a sunny breakfast one morning. They do yummy Banana Bread and really nice Ice coffees but it's more the location right next door and the lack of great cafes in our hood that makes us go over there.
Living by the water is simply the best!
It's still wonderful weather over here and I can't yet imagine how Sydney will look and feel in Autumn and Winter.
We finally took a few snaps of our new home here, which is an apartment in an Art Deco block of flats in Double Bay. It's so much fun setting everything up and I am looking forward to seeing this place grow homier and homier over time.
