Meet Dalston! One more sleep.

We are overly excited here tonight.
One more sleep and we are bring our new additon to the family home:
Havanese puppy Dalston!

We met him and his siblings the other week and visited before, he is now old enough to come with us.
On our visit we snapped a few pictures. We will be back with more very soon.

The next few weeks, will be filled with puppy fun: pre-school, training, socialization prob. some lack of sleep for all of us and lot's of time, for establishing a new little routine.

We have been waiting for this day for almost four years.
The house is puppy proofed and we got everything set up.

I noticed that most people don't know the breed. Ha-va-what? How do they look?
So I thought I include a link to a video about them here:

One more sleep!

Eating in and out + Running again x Our 1 year review

Has it really been a year?
I guess so, when I think of how much we done, seen and achieved in only a year here, I can only sum it up as having been amazing.
Only very recently we got into a routine that makes us feel somewhat at home.
With morning runs, making nice dinners at home and feeling a little more settled work wise.
It feels good. I feel things are getting balanced and while the first year in a new place is always super exciting it's also especially challenging.
I am so happy and grateful about how well my business went over here in my first year.
I have met so many great people and have worked with inspiring people.
The weather, the food the beach...and on top of that I am super amazed by the beautiful nature here. And I am sure that time will make our life down here only better and better.
We are excited for our 2nd year here in Sydney,  are now looking to finally add a puppy to our family.
I did a little happy dance today as I got so many good news and I am just so excited to welcome a dog into our lives. It's one of these days were I want to just hug everyone I come across. You know?

Double Bay Festival Fun

The other day I finished early after a super early start wedding, on the way back home I heard on the radio that there was a little community festival in Marrickville going on, so we went.
It was quite fun and reminded us a lot of our old London neighborhood, Dalston!
It was so multicultural and gritty and basic. And really fun! Good music and funny little stalls,
we had a coconut and sat down on the street eating some yummy fresh Gozleme.
(pictures coming soon!)

Last Sunday we had a street festival here in Double Bay, which was very different.
Our sleepy pretty harbour side suburb was buzzing and crowded.
While the kids in Marrickville had the chance to learn self defense and to present their kick boxing and kung fu skills, the Double Bay kids, were pony & camel riding, looking at the luxury car exhibit and being spoiled with face paint.

We loved both events.
The Double Bay  festival had lot's of pretty jewelry stands and little fashion labels, and home deco stuff ...I  had so much fun browsing around. We brought home a pretty new candle.
We petted the camels, ponies and farm animals, had some ice coffee and were strolling around before heading home and giving our place a long overdue major clean up. Then I made some Shakshuka dish for dinner,  which turned out great. We love our new Otto Lenghi "Plenty" cook book.

Most days feel like Summer already, I am loving it!

Sculpture By The Sea x A Long Long Walk

After going for a run and having a nice breakkie on a Sunday morning we walked over to Bondi Beach to do the beach walk and see all the amazing sculptures that are currently there.
There were some outstanding ones, and some artists really played with the environment.
I loved it. There was free sunscreen and water being provided along the way and there were great food stalls too. It was really like going to an outdoor museum. We also saw many many cute dogs along the way and my puppy fever is growing stronger.
(We need a new place that allows pets, otherwise we would have a pooch right now!)

I am still feeling deep appreciation for living so close to the ocean.
It's so magical to get the view. Walking is my favourite thing to do on a day off, especially if it's a day off together. It sorts out my thoughts and is so relaxing and inspiring.
Afterwards we made that yummy cauliflower pizza once more! We are slightly addicted.
And it goes so well with movies.

Noodling at Night x Date Night In Spring

We get already wonderful warm nights here in Sydney, so the other day we went to the Night Noodle Markets in Hyde Park. It was crowded and we had line up for some food but it was well worth it!
We haven't been sitting in the grass dining for a little while and was about time.
Another sign that Summer is around the corner.
Yummy Asian Food, drangon dancers, laterns, music, a full moon and time with Dave: What a night. We didn't really research all the stands and couldn't really be asked to squeeze through every single food stall to read the menu so we just started lining up and hoping for the best...
I was hoping for something a little lighter but ended up with Pad Thai and Spring Rolls, really really good ones though.
On our way home we played around the mirror art installation a little, knuddled a few little puppy dogs along the way and had a good night sleep afterwards.
We are refreshed for more house hunting and loads of new exciting creative projects.
